The dawn of SBPS witnessed the most awaited celebration Vatsalyam-2018 on 28-07-2018 by the pupils of grade II. The programme commenced with Shloka and Maitry bandhan of the guests followed by lighting of ceremonial lamp by the Honourable Chief Guest Mr. Shambhu Thakur, IG Police, Jharkhand, special guest Mr. Rajdeo Singh Yadav, School Head P&A Shri Pradip Varma, Principal Mrs. Paramjit Kaur, along with the other dignitaries.
The auditorium reverberated with the welcome song by the choir group. The students of Std- II-E gave live performance on the song ‘Swayam Siddha- Chal Akela Re’ followed by another dance performance named ‘Entertainment Now & Then’ by the students of Std- II-C and II-F. The pupils of Std. II-D and II-G also captured the attention of the audience by a dance drama on saving environment named ‘Beat Pollution, Go Green’. The students of Std. II-A and II-B performed a dance drama on ‘Namami Gange’ depicting the origin of Ganga, its importance and the need to maintain its purity. All the programmes were based on the theme ‘Change’. After the enthralling performance of the children, the grandmother of Yashaswi of grade II added value to the programme by singing an inspirational and motivational song. She was presented a token of gratitude by the Principal. The programme culminated with the national anthem.
The programme was flawlessly anchored by Ananya, Nabhya Lal, Swasti Poddar of Grade V and Smahi Poddar of Grade IV. It was an incredible moment for the grandparents to witness the synchronization of talent and tradition in their presentation.
The Chief Guest Mr. Shambhu Thakur appreciated the unique initiative taken by the school to inculcate values in the children. He praised the discipline among the children and the well-organised programmes. He suggested the parents and grandparents to communicate with their children on regular basis and let them choose the stream of their choice. He even shared his five measures to proliferate i.e. patience, self-confidence, determination, labour and wise selection of career.
