SBPS becomes the overall Champion in the 2nd B.K. Birla Taekwondo Trophy cum 5th Ranchi Inter School District Taekwondo Championship – wins 27 medals

SBPS Ranchi became the overall champion by winning 27 medals in 2nd B.K. Birla Taekwondo Trophy cum 5th Ranchi District Inter School Taekwondo Championship 2016 – 17 held at Sarala Birla Public School, Ranchi. Children from over 20 schools participated in the competition. Nearly 450 participants including coaches, trainers and managers participated in it.  Renowned referees from all over the state were selected to judge the event.  The programme was inaugurated at 9 am by School Head Personnel & Admin –cum-Chief Guest  Mr. Pradip Kumar Varma along with the Guest of Honour and other Esteemed Guests Mr. Inderjit Singh, Jagdish Singh Jaggu, VP, JTA and Mr. Ashok Bagwar along with the school Principal Mrs. Paramjit Kaur and Headmistress Mrs. Neena Das by lighting the lamp.  The championship was held in three categories – under 14, under 17 and under 19 for 224 medals which include 56 gold, 56 silver and 112 bronze medals. As per the tradition of the sports, players’ chest guard was punched to announce inauguration of the championship. Mr. Dharmendra kumar was nominated as the observer of the event on behalf of State Taekwondo Association. Miss Rupa Sinha was the school team manager. SBPS Ranchi emerged champion by winning 7 gold medals, 8 silver medals and 12 bronze medals
