Science Fiction Fashion Walk @ SBPS

Observing the 149th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, SBPS, Ranchi organized the Science Fiction Fashion Futurista & Soundscape in the school campus. To begin with one of the ideas of Gandhiji- ‘use of waste materials’, the fashion walk was organized in which the pupils wore attires made up of waste materials. The four houses chose the characters to represent from science fiction books like ‘Martian’, ‘Bicentennial Man’, ‘The Time Machine’ and ‘Nineteen Eighty- Four’. The event included live music which was performed by the students using waste materials and daily use items like utensils, buckets, sticks etc. The students have also incorporated beatboxing to create sounds which enraptured the audience. The smashing smiles, the vibrant attires and the stellar performances enthralled everyone in the auditorium. The competition was a huge success! In the ‘Ramp Walk’ and ‘Soundscape’ competition, the 1st position was bagged by the Samveda House. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th position was secured by Atharvaveda, Yajurveda and Rigveda House respectively.
The judges for the event were Mr. Deepak Sinha, Director, PAZEB, a fashion designer and news correspondent, Doordarshan, Mr. Kamal Sharma, Director, DO-RE-ME Music Academy and Mr. Kaushik Roy.
The chief guest Mr. Deepak Sinha was impressed with the innovative ideas of the students and appreciated their hard work. He was moved by the object used for soundscape.
