Inter house Recitation and Taekwondo Competitions @ SBPS

“Poetry is the rhythmical creation of beauty in words. And the discipline of Taekwondo leads to increase energy, better health, and fitness, greater co-ordination and higher self- esteem.”
To reiterate this thought English and Hindi Recitation and Taekwondo Competition for grade VI to XII was organized at SBPS. For English Recitation, the pupils were asked to recite poems penned by the prolific writers like Sarojini Naidu, Rabindranath Tagore and William Shakespeare. For Hindi, they were asked to recite poems penned by the illustrious writers like Hariwansh Rai Bachhan, Suryakant Tripathi Nirala and Mahadevi Verma. The enthusiastic participants recited the poems with great gusto and fervor. The judges were spellbound by the rendition of the pupils. The eye catching props and PPTs added icing to the cake.
The competitions culminated with the announcement of the winners.
In the English Recitation for grade VI to VIII, Vidhi Agarwal of Rigveda house bagged the 1st position, Satakshi Das Gupta of Samveda house and Sparsh Ranjan of Yajurveda house shared the 2nd position.
In the English Recitation for grade IX to XII, 1st position was bagged by Zoya Akhtar of Rigveda house 2nd position was shared by Aditya Ranjan of Atharvaveda and Utkarsh Vaibhav of Samveda house.
In the Hindi Recitation Competition for std. VI to VIII, Chinmay of Samveda house bagged the 1st position and 2nd position was shared by Khushi Singh Chouhan of Atharvaveda and Anshuman Shandilya of Rigveda.
In the Recitation Competition for IX to XII, Mehika Agarwal of Atharvaveda secured the 1st position, Shreya Choudhary of Yajurveda bagged the 2nd and Aradhya Jain of Samveda house bagged the 3rd position.
In an exciting taekwondo match, Yajurveda, Rgveda and Atharvaveda grabbed the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively in the VI to VIII category. Atharvaveda secured 1st and Yajurveda bagged the 2nd position in IX to XII category. Rigveda and Samveda shared the 3rd position.
