Inter-House English Recitation, Storytelling and Speech Competitions

‘Self confidence is the key to success and the key to self confidence is preparation’
To reiterate this thought and build confidence among children Inter-House English Recitation, Storytelling and Speech Competition was organised from KG-I to Std. II at the premises of Sarala Birla Public School on 22.1.19.
One participant from each house of KG I to Std. II was selected for the final round. In English Recitation, tiny tots of KG I recited the poems while displaying their lovely thoughts through props, students of KG II beautifully narrated the stories like The ‘Proudy Rose’, ‘The Monkeys and the Capseller’, ‘The Greedy Man’ and ‘Two Frogs’ whereas the participants of Std. I and Std. II were provided chits with various topics like ‘Famous Indian Personalities’, ‘Favourite Animal’, ‘My Hobby’ and ‘Why Is Republic Day Important?’ The students showcased their speaking skills through this competition.
The parameters for the judgment were presentation, intonation & expression, content and epilogue. The competition culminated with the announcement of winners. In English recitation (KG I), Lakshita Agarwal of Yajurveda secured the first position followed by Pranaya Mishra of Atharvaveda and Shoryamaan Singh of Samveda house secured the 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
In English Story Telling Competition (KG-II), Hansika Choudhary of Yajurveda secured the first position followed by Tanvi Vats of Atharvaveda house and Vanya Arya of Rigveda house secured the 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
In English Speech Competition (Std. I), Aarush Banerjee of Samveda house secured the first position followed by Ishfa Nayra of Atharvaveda house and Shlok of Yajurveda house secured the 2nd and 3rd position respectively. In Std. II Ananya Prachi of Yajurveda house secured the 1st position followed by Soumya Kashyap of Atharvaveda house and Swara Prateek of Rigveda house secured the 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
