‘A sound mind resides in a sound body’. With the aim of enhancing the agility of mind and body, an inter-house chess and badminton competition was organised at SBPS, Ranchi. Students actively participated and learned lessons like life-skills, benefits of teamwork, leadership as well as handling defeat. In a thrilling badminton match among the junior group girls, Samveda house bagged first position defeating Atharvaveda. While in senior girls group Atharvaveda was the winner.
On the other hand, in junior boys group Rigveda house was declared victorious playing against Samveda. In senior boys group Samveda house got the first prize and Atharvaveda second. Students also participated in the chess competition. In junior girls group Samveda house bagged the first position while in junior boys group Yajurveda stood first. In the senior group, among girls, Atharvaveda was declared the winner and in senior boys, Yajurveda was victorious. After the competitions, students (girls in particular) were also given lessons for self defense.
