Inclusive Diwali celebration at SBPS

  • Students came together with the ‘Divyangs’ to celebrate the festival of lights.

‘It’s better to light one candle than to curse the darkness’. With a hope of bringing happiness in the life of Divyang children, students of Sarala Birla Public School celebrated Diwali with the children of ‘Deepsikha’ an institute of Child Development and Mental Health on 28th of October, 2016. They celebrated the festival of lights in a traditional way with a great zeal and enthusiasm. The students of presented an extravaganza of dance and music. All the students expressed their happiness by painting & decorating diyas in a creative style. They also made beautiful diwali cards. Students of KG to II learnt to make diyas using potter’s wheel. Taking an initiative to celebrate eco –friendly Diwali, students of class V made rangoli using natural products and rangoli colours. A speech was presented by the students emphasizing on the importance of eco-friendly Diwali. Celebrating Diwali with the ‘Divyangs’ aroused a sense of inclusion and ownership. Students were happy to bring happiness on the faces of these children. Diwali is an excellent time to start thinking about helping other people and working on this path. SBPS students gifted chocolates and handmade diyas to those children.
