It’s truly said, “The nearest thing to the love of God is the love of Grandparents.”
Grandparents’ day was observed in Sarala Birla Public School on 19th August, 2017, with the theme, “NATURE”. The students of K.G.I and K.G.II expressed their love and respect for their grandparents and all senior members in the society through various programmes. The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr. Louis Marandi Minister for Minority Welfare, Social Welfare, Women and Child Development and guest of honour, mayor, Mrs. Asha Lakra by lighting the lamp.
The students of K.G.I ‘A’ welcomed the guests with ‘Ganesh Stuti’ ; imbibing the spiritual values among us. The next performance was by the students of K.G.I ‘B’ & ‘C’ on the theme ‘Festival of Nature’ and how important it is to protect our mother nature, as it is the source of our life.
The students of K.G. II ‘A’ & ‘C’ staged splendid dance, representing the cultural values of north-east India- Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Tripura & Meghalaya with the theme ‘The Seven Sisters-Paradise unexplored’. A small tribute and homage to Gurudev Rabindra Nath Thakur, was given by the student of K.G.II ‘B’& ‘D’ by presenting a beautiful dance on his composition ‘RITU RANG’. A small skit and dance was performed by the students of K.G.II ‘E’ &’F’ leaving behind the message that we should always be thankful to the Almighty God for this beautiful and wonderful world.
The chief guest Dr. Louis Marandi addressed the gathering and appreciated the school’s effort in revering the grandparents and teaching the little ones to cherish their presence. She added that the responsibilities and connectivity which we are forgetting today, the children through their performances made us aware of them.
