Global Handwashing Day and Students’ Day

Sarala Birla Public School, Ranchi observed the Global Handwashing Day in the school premises, aiming at spreading awareness among the students regarding the need of cleanliness. The tiny tots of Std. II presented themselves as soap, water & hand, showing their friends the correct way of washing hands. The students of Std. IV and V presented a skit highlighting the importance of   ‘ hand- washing.’
Class I students presented the song ‘We start with washing palm to palm….’
Students also prepared flash cards with slogans written on it. They gave the message of ‘Clean Hands are Happy Hands.’ Avani of Std. V expressed her views saying ‘Make some bubbles, kill the troubles.’ Hand towels and paper soaps were distributed to the supporting staff of the school. A power point presentation ‘Why wash hands ?’  was shown to the students. The pupils of Std. IX presented speech, skit and slogans to emphasize on the importance of handwash. They even made the students aware of the six steps to wash hands.  They were reminded to wash hands every time before and after having their meal.
The children also observed the birthday of ‘APJ Abdul Kalam’ as ‘Students’ Day’ and took oath to follow his footsteps.
