Annual Grandparents’ Day: Vatsalyam-2018 @ SBPS

  • Students of Std. I bestow their Love and Gratitude towards their Grandparents through ‘Vatsalyam-2018’.

It’s rightly said, “Grandparents are the ones who carry silver in their hair and gold in their hearts.”

Moral values, ethics and wisdom that kids learn from their grandparents help them in every stage of life. The students of Sarala Birla Public School (grade 1) bestowed their love and gratitude towards their grandparents through a variety of programmes on the theme ‘DREAMS’ on 25th August, 2018.
The programme commenced amidst great zest, vibrancy and elation with Maitri Bandhan of the guests followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the honourable Chief Guest Mrs. Poonam Pandey, President, IPSOWA; Special Guest Swami Madhvananda ji, Acharya, Chinmaya Mission; Mr. B.K. Dalan, Secretary, SBPS, Ranchi; Mr. Pradip Varma, School Head Personnel & Admin.; Mrs. Paramjit Kaur, Principal, SBPS; Mrs Subani Bara, Principal, MBINCT; Prof. V.K. Singh, Controller of Examination, SBU and Mr. Manish, Manager, P&A, SBU  alongwith the other dignitaries.
The cultural programme commenced with the welcome song, ‘Abhinandan’ by the choir group. Then the students of I E presented a prayer dance ‘Shanti Shankalpam’ based on Sanskrit Mantras with the message of driving out darkness from within. After this the students of Grade I A thanked God for His unconditional love through prayer dance- ‘Eternal Voice’. The next programme ‘Sunahre Sapne’ by the students of Grade I F was based on theme- ‘Importance of Education’. Students of I B and I D, through dance drama – ‘Feed Your Dreams’ came up with the message of building a better world by realizing one’s potential and having self confidence in one’s ability. The next programme ‘Ek Lakshya’ by the students of Grade I C depicted a son’s dream to follow his father’s footprints who devoted his life to our motherland- INDIA. A beautiful dance performance ‘Krishna Leela’ based on Janmashtmi , the birth of Lord Krishna was also presented by the students of grade VI to VIII.
Grandparents were very enthusiastic to witness the event and the grandfather of Krisha Baldwa of Grade I-D sang a spiritual and motivational song. The programme was beautifully compered by Rishika Chhawchhria of Grade V- C , and Vyomini Rani, Priyanshi Singh and Sanat Jha of grade V-F.
The Chief Guest Mrs. Poonam Pandey was superlative in her appreciation of the students, teachers and management. She stated that she felt highly elated to have visited SBPS, Ranchi. She lauded the vision and the relentless hard work done by the students and their mentors for presenting such a message-oriented programme. She added, “The root of SBPS isn’t the building but the culture which is preserved both through knowledge and science.”
Swami Madhvandji in his speech emphasised on value education and said that these values are mostly imbibed in the children by their grandparents. Through anecdotes, he reiterated that there should be balance between love and guidance that the grandparents provide to the grandchildren so that they become self- dependent and strong enough to face the challenges of life.
 Secretary, Mr. B K Dalan congratulated the team of SBPS and said, “SBPS has grown in leaps and bounds since its establishment and continues to move ahead. It fills me with immense pride to see the children perform on the stage fearlessly which will definitely transform these students into self- confident individuals.”
